As a Mechanical Engineer you will play a crucial role in developing groundbreaking flow battery technology, working on the designs for our stacks. You will be working alongside a team of professionals and specialists, including a stack architect, electro-chemists and CFD expert. With our prototyping capabilities and extensive testing facilities, you will see your designs come to life quickly.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Design and develop flow battery components, e.g. sealings, pressurized housings and internal cell components
- Support stack testing to ensure that the stack components achieve the required performance, cost and durability
- Develop and build prototype test setups
- Design of experiments and test protocols
- Troubleshooting
- Preparing and reviewing of technical documents
- Search for solutions and alternatives from suppliers
Profile
We are looking for a problem-solving Mechanical Engineer with a drive for innovation. Your track record shows proven skills, knowledge of, and experience with the development of electrochemical systems, e.g., flow batteries, PEM fuel cells or electrolyzers. You are able to ask the right questions and come up with innovative, out-of-the-box solutions and ideas.
Supporting product development, you have strong communication skills with both scientists and engineers of various disciplines. You can continue to work in a safe and structured way, while under pressure to meet deadlines and targets, with a good eye for quality.
Education, skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role
- Expertise in resolving technical challenges, proven creativity in resolving design problem and knowledgeable in engineering polymers and elastomers
- Experience in Solidworks or similar CAD software and their FEA possibilities
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control
- Knowledge or experience with flow battery, electrolyser or fuel cell technology and/or injection moulding, transfer moulding, mould design is an asset
- A creative mindset and a track record of overcoming complex design challenges
- Passionate in clean energy, green hydrogen, and electrical energy storage technologies
- Fluent in English
- Experience with working in an international company or international experience is a plus
- An entrepreneurial mindset
